Program Information
The practical nursing curriculum provides knowledge and skills to integrate safety and quality into nursing care to meet the needs of the holistic individual which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential. Course work includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes safe, individualized nursing care and participation in the interdisciplinary team while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics. Our faculty are committed to providing accessible high quality nursing education to meet the diverse and changing healthcare needs of the service area and to promoting the development of qualified graduates prepared for the professional role of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the entry level.
Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), which is required for practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals, rehabilitation/long term care/home health facilities, clinics, and physicians’ offices.
The Rowan-Cabarrus nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing, Inc (ACEN).
Public Notice of Upcoming Accreditation Review Visit by the ACEN
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College wishes to announce that it will host a site visit for continuing accreditation of its Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing Programs by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). You are invited to meet with the site visit team and share your comments about the program in person at a meeting scheduled at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in Room 115 of NCRC, located at 399 Biotechnology Lane, Kannapolis, N.C. Written comments are also welcome and should be submitted to the ACEN via email at publiccomments@acenursing.org or to the ACEN office: Attn: Accreditation Services Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing 3390 Peachtree Rd.
